Happy New Year! I've been somewhat busy with several other things and really haven't had the chance to crochet. However, that will change this week when I get back into the saddle again so that I can really make a dent in my grandmother's vest.

This year is a pretty big year as well for the Yarn Talk blog. In Feburary, I will be 5 years posting on here. While as of right now I have no plans for a contest, there might some "Easter Eggs" thrown in the next couple of weeks. However, I'll talk about those in a future post later this week.

One thing that will be changing is that my blogging on here will be getting better. 2011, was a bit of a blah year for me (nothing bad, just really didn't feel like posting here that often). I also hope to have photos of the vest as I continue to work on it's progress. I'm also planning on finally finishing the afghan that has been sitting in my room for two years. Once that's done, it will be washed and packed away for summer use (since it's acrylic). After that, I'll start planning my next few projects. I'm thinking I'm going to be using primarly Red Heart and Lion Brand (I'm not a yarn snob) this year for money purposes. However, if there is a project that I really want to do then I will spend the $$$. That won't be that often though.

Finally, I will be doing a life update prob. only once or twice a week. That way you won't have to hear about Mi, MDog or Mom that often (although I'm a little nervous for MDog tomorrow since she is getting her teeth cleaned).

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season! I'll be back later this week with another post. :)

Update, Hiatus is over!

Hi all! The Hiatus is over! Part of the reason why I took a blogging hiatus was that frankly, I was in a crocheting funk. I took about 2 1/2 months off of crocheting since I felt a little burnt out. Also I was a burnt out from blogging. However, I'm back and refreshed with new ideas on how to take my crocheting to the next level for my sanity. Here is quick little update on what is going on in crocheting.

*I'm currently working on a vest for my grandmother. This is something she had asked me to do when I visited her Thanksgiving weekend. She's been having some health problems lately, but is getting better.

*I'm going to be working on finishing the afghan so finally check that off my list. I'm hoping by the middle of February.

*I want to finish my Knit Picks bag by March... at the earliest.

*Start a few other things in the Spring including possibly spinning again.

That's really it for now, and plus photos will be on the way in the next couple of weeks. I'll be back later this week with my 2012 Goal post. :)

Taking a break

I know I've been MIA lately, and do appologize for that. However right now Yarn Talk will be going on a hiatus until at least the middle of December. Why? Frankly I'm trying to get my crocheting mojo back and I've been working on way too many other things including several other blogs. Secondly, I'm about to embark on a little bit of traveling in the next couple of months and want to work on planning those.

With that being said, I will be continuing to update Thoroughbred Chat (my horse racing blog) and Quilting the Day Away (my quilting blog) as well as Splash Journal (my scrapbook and mixed media blog).

I'll see you all again in December!

Announcement Coming Soon

A major announcement will be coming soon stay tuned.

Must Crochet

Yep still in that funk a dunk. Can't help that it happens to me, but it does. Seriously though I really need to finish this afghan done so I can finish the bag and bust some of that stash of mine before I order more yarn.

The good news is I think tomorrow will be the perfect day to do it, plus with the Breeders' Cup coming up that would be the perfect time to crochet through on Friday (during the commerials and fluff pieces since my laptop will be out then as well), Sat I'm probley going to be doing something else. That is up in the air though.

I need to charge my DSLR so that I can take some good quality photos in the next few weeks. What was supposed to be a send off for Danica Patrick (she's NASCAR bound next year), turned into tragady. Dan Wheldon who won the first Indy 500 that Danica particpated in and won again this year was killed in a 15 car crash in the season finale in Las Vegas. A heartbreaking end to the season.

The drivers decided not to finish the race, but do a 5 lap tribute in memory of him. I was never a Dan fan, especially since I felt he gave Danica a little bit of a hard time since she wasn't winning. However, after her win in Japan, I believe the relationship between them got better. The last time there was a death in Indy Car, it was when Paul Dana who was a teammate of Danica's was killed before the race. They decided to hold the race without Rahal Letterman cars and Dan won.

My heart goes out to his wife and their two little boys. RIP Dan gone too soon.

Post coming soon

I PROMISE!!!

MUST DO LIST

Yep I went all captial letters there. I'm once again beyond the eight ball, but not completely suprised by it. I've been working on other projects (including a new podcast), and *gasp* haven't had time to crochet. But that's not a suprise when you think about it. So I am offically releasing the Must Do List. This is something that has been bugging me for a while now and has finally hit a boiling point. I'm not a professional writer, and right now really don't have the time or patience to be so. I write for the fun of it. If you don't like my writing style then don't read it. The point that I'm making is that there are times I wonder why I don't have tougher skin.

On one of my other blogs I got a rude comment, and decided to publish the comment. Before you ask, why did I it, I have a little story to tell. When I was a senior in high school I had a teacher for the purposes of this post I'll be calling Mrs. W. Now Mrs. W was a strict, but helpful teacher to everyone, that is except for me. She always thought that my writing was horrible, even though most of the time I had gotten the highest grade on it in the class. I would burst into tears normally by her comments and complain to my mother because of it. All my mom would tell me is to keep working hard and it will be easier. Thankfully I've pushed ahead with my writing.

I've gotten rude comments before, but never one this rude. So I replyed smart alacky back, because frankly I felt that's what needed to happen. I will never be the world's best writer, and that's okay. I can use my other skills for other things.

Sorry about this rant, but this is something that has been boiling over for a while. I needed to come out and clear with something that happend to me in the past when it came to writing. Thanks for reading, I'll have crochet posts coming soon.

Crocheting and other things

Hey all! First off, crocheting has taken a bit of break for me personally. It's not that I don't love it still, I do. It's that I've been doing lots of other things that have been taking lots of my time. Although I did pick up my afgahan a few weeks ago that I had already posted about. More then likely that will be changing soon as I'm almost to the end of a very time consuming project.

Plus with the weather finally starting to cool down, and leaves just about ready to turn colors I can do some crocheting again. Miriam is loving college so far, not sure if she's made any friends as she hasn't told me. I'm sure she's told mom since well, she is our mom. We've actually been having several Facebook fights that she starts. I tell mom that Mi is the fire starter in this case. Of course, she replies that I'm just as guilty as she is. Sisters... can't live with them... can't live without them.

In other news, I'm back in my routine as well. I'm hoping that I love my newest hobby as much as I love crocheting, art journaling ect.

More later!

10 Years Later

It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since 9/11. I was an eighth grader at the time and it was your typical Tuesday morning. I had gone to school and was in class when the secretary started to come over the intercom every 2 minutes or so asking for students to come to the office for early dismissal. I had thought they all had doctors appointments. It wasn't until one of the kids asked another teacher about what was going on.

I started to freak out after our principal came on to tell us that we going to be dismissed early. I had tried to get in contact with my mom, but she wasn't home. I was also concerned about my cousin who lived near the Twin Towers at that time (she would be okay). Thankfully, about 15 minutes after I called, mom did come and get me. She then went to get Miriam and we went home to watch the coverage.

As a thirteen year old, you don't know what to expect. That's why I think it was a good idea that my school told all the teachers to talk about it the next day with the kids. I had found out that my homeroom/science teacher's son was one of the lucky ones since he was on the lobby trying to get something as he didn't feel well that day. He ran out of the building (unfortanlly I forget which one he was in) and was safe.

I'm sure that people who I know from New York lost someone they knew/loved (I was born and raised there before moving to CT and eventually here to DE). It's going to be a solem day and bless those who have joined the milatary (including one of my teachers and an aquantence of mine) to help fight for our country.

Test

This is just a test post! Ever since I sadly failed to get my State Fair entries out, I kinda took a break on finishing all of the crocheting that I started. That was until today. The bag will be completed as soon as I finish the afgahan.

While I don't have pictures right now, I do plan on having some photos done soon since I want to get some photos posted for my other blogs that I have.

I can not wait till Monday as it is the final Blue Rocks game of the year. If you where living under a rock, here's what happend. An approx. 5.9 (some are reporting 6.0) earthquake hit central Virginia. Well, that quake was felt in several states, including Delaware. I was home laying down on my bed while playing with my computer. All of a sudden, my bed started to shake and then my entire room and the house. I was like what the f!

I had just experienced the Earthquake. Mom was actually on the road on her way to do something when she thought the engine of the car was going (which wouldn't be too bad since well we are getting rid of the car). Mi was actually in the city attending her second day of college (yes my little sister is offically a college student! She's going to a CC for now, then will transfer up to a school in NY) and she felt the shaking. All in all, no damage to our house and everyone is okay.

Hopefully that does not happen again.

Still in a crochet blues, but hopefully by tomorrow it will be over (or at least I hope so).

Sky is in the clouds

I can not wait till Sunday! July was somewhat hellish for me since I got little to no crocheting done. Which is somewhat sad because I've been wanting to crochet the past couple of weeks. It's been that kind of month. Tomorrow is going to be fun since I'm heading to Baltimore for the National Aquariam. Not too, too thrilled, but I have no choice but to go since I'm the one who runs the GPS.

Ah well, can't win them all. It's such a sad time since Borders brings back memories for me. I think that was actually the first thing we found when we moved from CT to DE. My dad, who was a bookfantatic wanted to find the closest bookstore to us. At the time, Barnes and Nobel had only one location near us, and that was 30 minutes away (there has since been a location added that's about 20 minutes away), and Borders had one that was just 15 minutes away.

We went there almost every weekend, Mi got upset many times since while she loves books, she often got bored there. Now, had they found a buyer might have spent most of her free time there since the store was across the street from where she will be attending school in the fall (which was where I went to college as well). In a way, I'm somewhat glad that dad didn't get to see this. He would have been extreamly upset, and frankly probley would have bought up the store if he had the money.

My mom wanted to get Consumer Reports, and wanted to look around the store one more time. So we went today. She was able to snag and copy, I grabbed Spin Off (yes I'm thinking of spinning again, but prob. not till the fall), and a few books (including a book by Tony Dungy, the first African American coach to win the Super Bowl (he did so with the Colts). I also got some maps that I will explain about on Splash Journal to what I'm going to be doing with them. In all, we got what we wanted and said our final farewell to the store.

I'm going to miss it. Goodbye Borders, and thanks for the Memories.

Horrible Mojo

I really haven't been in a crocheting mood lately. I'm not going to do a review of it, since there will be several much more detailed ones out there for you to see. However, so far it's good. I think if you are someone like me who has to have everything to date otherwise their computer is well sucky, then it's a good buy. If you are someone who can wait, then do that. The price is certinally a lot cheaper then Microsoft OS' (when I was on Windows, I never bought the upgrades because they where too $$$).

So that my Life portion of the post.

Now for crocheting. I'm in a rut. Even though I didn't finish my entries in time to send to the fair, I will be finishing them so that I can use them to enjoy. I plan on working on the afghan sometime tonight and tomorrow. Plus the bag and my third entry a scarf which will be finished before winter, so that I can wear it! I do have some project ideas upcoming, but I'll be sketching them out in my sketch book first so that I actually have an idea of what I will be doing. Normally I just wing it, but that's something that I'm no longer going to do.

As for the rest of life, well I saw Zookeeper today as well. It was good, I found it funny. I'll keep everyone updated on the birdhouses, but to hear about the project, you need to head over to Splash Journal!

That's really it for now!

2 Years

It's hard to believe it's been two years since my sweet Daisy passed away. I have to get them to their final destination before the middle of July in order for them to be judged. However, I'm working hard to make sure that I do well in this year's catagories.

My goal is to have the afghan done by the end of next week (2 blocks down, 7 more to go, but it's going super quick). The bag should be done soon afterwards and then I can start on the scarf (although I have to use a different yarn then planned as I'm not too happy with the yarn I got, but this is the one I was the most nervous about and will be happy with wherever I finish).

Everything should be ready to go around the first, and be sent out the week before it has to be in Harington. The second block is just about done and I will be starting the third block on Sunday. As for the second entry, that will be picked up again on Sunday as well. That means UGH! Mom now wants me to make the return cards for Mi's party and I told her fuck no. Naturally she was pissed, but I freaking don't care. Miriam basically has pushed me to put my State Fair entries on hold to help her out. Frankly the only reason why I'm doing it is, because she wants me to and I sadly feel obligated to do so.

Also I saw African Cats today and it was horrible. Possibly the worst docomentry ever. It jumped back and forth, I rather seen them do one story and then focused on the other in the second part. Made more sense to me. Mom after the movie asked why I went, uhh because you where going to make me go anyway? It should be done by at the latest Sunday. Then I'm going to put the afghan away for a few days. Why? Because I really want to get started on my second and third entries, so that I can get far enough along before I really get into crunch time and will need to work on Mi's Grad Party Decorations 24/7. Here is the yarn for the second and third entries!

It's Knit Picks! Two different yarns, the first is Imagination Hand Painted Sock in Enchanted Forest. The other is Comfy Worsted in 4 colors (multiple balls of each): Sweet Patato, Maize, Black and Macaw. The other items you see are two crochet hooks, yarn needles, blocking pins and a piece of blocking board (there are nine in total that fit together like a puzzle), something I liked. On Monday, I posted that I had saw on the Knit Picks board on Ravelry about chemically smelling yarn. The good news is with my nose, I didn't smell anything. Hopefully before, during and after blocking, it stays that way.

Also last night I started to work with the Comfy Worsted, and it's so soft! I'm normally not a cotton person, but I think the acrylic is just to right amount not to make it too "cottony" (I know it's not a real word) for my hands. As for the Imagination, I love and hate sock yarn at the same time. What do I mean by that? Sadly I have the ability to destroy nice yarn when it's in hank form and some of the yarn is tied. The good news is I've only got a one of the hanks (there are a couple left), and I'm going to look up on YouTube to handle it correctly. However, because I don't have a ball winder it will make a little bit more diffacult on me. Still I do have a backup plan if it doesn't work out. The good news is I bought the yarn early enough that I can afford mistakes.

Tonight I will continue to seam, and will have pictures again in a few weeks.

Worrisome

Before I explain why the title is what it is, a small afgahan update. Block #1 is done! Seaming of Block #2 will begin once I get all five of the purple squares I need for that block done. That should happen sometime this week, I'm hoping for that to happen this week (who knows possibly Friday again). After the block is done, I'm going to take a few days off to start working on my two other entries. This is part of the reason why I'm worried.

I had been reading the group of the company that I ordered my entry yarn from (for now until I recieve the yarn I won't say which company). There was a thread on one of the yarns that they sell well had a chemincally smell to it when wet. After a quick check of the yarn, I found out that there was wool in it. That got me a little bit nervous, because one of the yarns that I bought does have wool in it. That makes me a little concerned since I'm def. planning on blocking the yarn one I'm done with the FO. What I can do is block outside and there won't be a big problem. Not sure yet though how I'm going to handle it. I might not have to worry about anything though, since I did not buy the yarn that was in question.

Then there was this past Friday. Mom and Mi went to a local hotel to check out a room there to see if that would be a good place to hold her graduation party (it's hard to believe that my little sister is a senior!). Turned out that it was a perfect place for her and they are renting the room. They gave them an option of either having them decorate it, or have us doing it. Miriam wants me to do them. I guess she's looking for a personal touch of things. Here's the problem, she doesn't know a theme yet. UGH!!!!! Although I'm going to mention something to her when I see her this afternoon. Don't quite want to share it yet, but I think she'll like it. Or at least I hope she will.

As for life, it's been going well. Been crazy busy with all the projects that I want to do and need to get done. Also because I want to stay regularly updates on the State Fair projects, I will be blogging during Derby week this year. Something that I did not do last year. So lots of upcoming posts the next couple of weeks!

Before and After (img heavy)

It's been a while since I shared pictures of my State Fair Afgahan. These are some of the squares before I started to seam them together.

And a close up

If the purple ones look bigger then the maroon/redish ones then you would be correct. It's the same yarn (Vanna's Choice), so more then likely it was how I crocheted the purple ones lareger then maroon ones. That's okay What I decided to do is to seam this set of squares together to make a larger block that was when I'm ready to seam all of the blocks together, it will be easier to do. Here's part of the block:

There are three squares that I need to do, but that will be done by tomorrow. I'm using a single crochet seaming as I felt the most comfortable after trying sewing them together didn't go well (I really didn't like the look that I was going for).

Here is a close up of the seam:

The goal is to have at least 8 blocks of 9 squares in each block, so 72 squares would be in the afgahan. However, I really want to get 12 or 14 blocks if possible. We'll see what happens however. Not sure I can win with this afgahn, but I'm hoping at least 3rd depending on the amount of entries. I will have a picture of the entire afgahan when I'm done, plus my two other entries.

Speaking of those two entries, I just ordered the yarn. I'll have in progress pics of those projects once I begin them in a few weeks.

Rainy Tuesday

This is the second Tuesday in a row that it's rained. Crazy huh, but like the saying goes, April Showers bring May Flowers. Life for me has been somewhat blahish lately, with the emphisis on ish. The squares are going well, and will be starting to be set up like an afghan in the next month or so once the squares are done. By the end of April I will have also ordered the yarn for my second and third entries that I will be working on.

Yes I said third, I decided to add a third since in will be starting to go into overdrive mode earlier since I really want to win this year, or at least finish better then third. It's currently raining outside and really haven't gotten that much work done on the squares since the last post. However, I was able to finish the square that I've been working on for the past few days and have 18 of squares done. However, I'm debating on weather to add the third color that I recently bought to the squares I already have done, or use the 2nd color that I previously bought to add to it. Or use my plan of just using the two colors and use the third as seaming.

Decidesions, decisions that I have to make, and little time to do so. Going to be doing alot of work this afternoon on getting some more squares done (I want to have 30 by the end of next week, no breaks cross fingers). By the end of the month, I would love to be starting to plan out the order of how the squares will law when they are finally put together in late June/Early July before being shipped to where the fair will be held. I will also be ordering materials for my second entry and finally offically enter the fair for the year.

Lets hope this time I do better then I did last year. Although I'm hopeful for that.

As for life, it's be crazy, but more on that in another post next week.

Square Update #3

Abeit a day late. I've got about 30% of the squares that I want done. However, I'm going to go back in in June to at a one more round, this time of a border color so that I can attach the squares together more smoothly.

I do plan on having pictures ASAP! I absolutly hate April Fools Day. Why? Because many people like to play rude, crude jokes. Some of them are not even that funny. I feel that it's just not nice. Like this morning, Mi decided to be dumb and said she wasn't going to school. I ask her why and she said she didn't want to. However, I look outside and it's still dark out. That little *()*)(&_.

I do have a sense of humor, just not the kind that is the same as other peoples. Mine is a little bit more of a dark humor which I perfer not to say anymore about.

To those who enjoy AFD, I hope you have a good day. That date may sound like a random date out of my head. However, it's far from it, as that is an important for me personally. That's when Barbara and Hal Levine welcomed their first child, a bouncing baby boy that they would name Kenneth Alan. Ken grew up to be an athlete playing goalie for his high school hockey team, before coaching pee wee teams. Two of the players he coached where Ted and Chris Drury both who went on to play in the NHL, with Chris being a Stanley Cup champ with the Colorado Avalanche. That was something he was always proud of. He would also umpire several games that featured future major leaguers Mo Vaugun and Charles Nagy (the later being from the same town he was from).

He did this all while battling epilepsy which he had since he was a teenager. He would go onto to a wonderful career at a big bank (which I perfer not to name here), marrying a wonderful woman Linda Lee Rozans. They would have two children the older one Rachel Anne would inherit her father's temper and often clash with him. The younger one, Miriam Sarah would try to stay out of those clashes which useally ended with Rachel crying. However, he cared for both of his daughters going to their soccer games and band activties when they reached high school.

Even with the responcibilites of work and family, he always gave time to two other things he loved. His faith and politics. While he didn't go to synagoge every weekend, he gave his time to read the torah every few months when he was able to. As a Political Science major, he had a passion for it, especially the Middle East where war was going on. In matter of fact, he met one of his good friends in Israel when he was vol. with the Israeli Army.

My dad would have been 50 years old today. Yes he was a nag, yes I complained about him on the blog. But, I miss him and rather him be here and bothering me then taken away too soon thanks to colon cancer. Happy birthday Daddy, I love you and miss you.

Square Update #2

Before I tell you about this week's update, a story has to be told by me. Right now I have 9 squares complete, with one currently on the hook as I type this up. I will have it done by tonight, and the goal is to have 11 possibly 12 squares by the time I go to bed this evening. By the end of the week the goal is to have 25. If I can have that number, then one of the days next week (most likely next Monday) will be an off day. Otherwise I will wait till I have 25 then take a day off before picking it up again the following day.

When I'm out of yarn the plan is to go back to AC Moore and get 2 more colors, plus black to border and attach the squares together (I'm not going to have enough waste yarn to attach all of them, plus I don't want two squares the same color to touch each other). Four colors should be enough for this afgahn and the goal is to have it done by mid-May. If I can do that, then I will be entering a second (and then possibly third) sections of the fair.

That's it for today, a post about RL later this week!

Japan

I was orginally going to be doing an update on my State Fair squares, however overnight a 8.9 earthquake followed by a tsunami hit Japan. Just how bad is it? Take a look at this clip:

My heart goes out to those in Japan. Hopefully if any of my readers have family/friends who are currently living/visiting there you are able to get into contact with them. While I don't know of anyone who is currently there when I was in elementry school we had a sister school in Japan and they sent students who where going to be teachers to our school. Sadly I don't remember where in Japan the school is located so hopefully they are okay and out of harms way.

I'll have an update most likely this weekend.

State Granny

This little beauty on the left is part of the State Fair entry that I'm currently working on. There are currently three squares done, with one on the hook as I'm typing this up. The goal is by the end of today to have at least 5 squares done. If I can get 5 1/2 possibly six then it's a win/win situation for me. I will be able to do some more squares tomorrow and will be able to take a day off to work on other things. Then I'll pick it up again and get back to where I stopped. However, if it's mid square then I'll finish the square before taking my mini break.

The yarn I'm using is Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice, the color in the photo is cranberry and a little bit darker then the photo shows. The reason why I chose Vanna's Choice is because it was softer then Red Heart (which I made my placemats out of last year), also I actually liked the colors for granny squares better then the choice selection for Red Heart. Plus it's so smooth! I know there are going to be people who say "eww acrylic", but I'm no yarn snob. I do plan on using higher quality yarn if I have time for that second entry (especially for what I'm planning to do). Of course that is still a big, big if that I will have time before entries close. If I do get both done by the time I enter, then I will shoot for a third. However that's my personal max for the fair this year.

On other news, really nothing much is happening in my life. I'm continuing to work on the first draft of my novel. I'm hopefully going to get that finished by the middle of May so I can edit throughout the summer. I'm also trying to find a job (gulp!), but of course that's not working out well. Add in I'm trying to start my own bussiness, yeah everything is turning up peachy here. Who knows, maybe everything is starting to look up for once? I guess I should just hold my head high and hope for the best and expect the worst.

Now if you excuse me, I have some stuff to do. Later peeps!

State Fair

Guess what time it is? It's the time that I useally start with State Fair stuff that's what! I'm doing something a bit different this year though. How is that? I'm going to be focusing on one project at a time and not bite off more then I can chew. So the goal for right now is to enter just one class, but if I get done quickly, then I will be entering another one. I'm going to give myself time to work on my entry however since I'm trying to go for the win. I was really disapointed in myself for not winning last year. That's not going to happen this year.

I do have a few pics, but they won't be uploaded for a few days as I took them with my phone. It was so nice in fact I didn't need to wear a coat when I went out to do my normal activities. Today however, different story. It was your typical winter weather situation with an ugly sky and wind. Too much wind if you as me. I heard that in some places the wind was up to 50 mph. That's very, very bad. Especially since there could be places where power could be lost. Thankfully where we are we haven't lost power... yet.

However a funny thing happend at lunch. As we where leaving where we where eating, the exit door got the hinges knocked off with my mom's momentum of pushing the door combined with the wind. I ran away like a little kid trying not to get into trouble. Thankfully the manager came running over to try to fix it. I'm not sure if it got fixed as we had to go. Hopefully it did though.

As for us, well we had to make a quick stop at a shopping center. That was to see if a local Girl Scout troop was having a cookie booth there. They where thankfully dispite the wind. Mom and Mi got 9 boxes of the awesomest cookies ever! (Thin Mints, Somoas and Tagalongs) There are times where I miss being a Girl Scout, and there are times where I'm just flat out glad I don't have to deal with the drama of cookie selling.

Crochet update soon! I promise.

Pictures are comforth

I finally transfered to pics to my computer and just have to process the RAW's. Sadly, I always bit off more then I chew. So because of that I'm going to work be starting a checklist of what needs to be crocheted and when it needs to be done. What does that mean? The art project will be put on hold for the next few months while I work on finishing the projects I have on the hook, PLUS State Fair items which I'm going to start planning out this weekend.

The photos will be up within the week. Well I have some good news and some bad news. I'm sure you guys don't care what order it comes in, so I'll give the bad news first.

Bad News: I've hit a bit a rough patch in the design and I somewhat regret now drawing it out first. However, it's not that big of a deal because I can work around it. The other big thing is that I don't have pictures like I promised that I would, however I'm going to have them as soon as possible. I really do mean that, seriously I do. I would like to appologize for the delay on that though, I say that they are coming and still... no dice.

Now for the good news. Tomorrow, I will have all day to work on it! Because of the holiday, all of my work that I normally would do on Monday will be put off so that I can focus on the art project. Dispite hitting the rought patch, I'm actually very pleased with how it's turning out. The project is being worked in sections which is why it's working so well. The first section is done, with the second section just getting started. I probley will do an AC Moore run in the next few weeks to get more supplies. I will also be ordering some yarn online to add as accents. However, for this first crochet art project it's going to be mainly acrylic yarn.

I'm also going to start spinning again soon. I want to get a new spindle (I love the one that I have now, however I tend to spin on the thin side and over spin. So I want to get a smaller spindle that suits my thin spinning and possiblely help me from overspinning). I'm not quite ready for a wheel (if I had done spinning regularly, then I think I would have been), but hopefully in the next 6 to 8 months I should be as I really want to know if I'm really comitted to spinning.

As for life, well I've got nothing wrong going on. What is art crochet you may ask? I think depending on who the person is, Art Crochet is defined a different ways. How I define art crochet is that something that you really wouldn't wear. It's freeform crochet in a way, but there are times where freeform can be worn, I don't think Art Crochet can. Or at least the project that I will be undertaking. So what am I going to do? Well it's a secret for now. However as I progress there will be photos so I promise on that.

As for regular life? Well tonight I'm a little bit nervous for the first time in 4 years I'm playing in a concert. Okay so it's just one song, but I'm still nervous. This will probley the last time for awhile at least that I do this, so hopefully it goes well.

I should have at least one more post this week, depending on how much work I actually get done.

Vest work

After several months of putting it off, I've continued on the vest that I started. This was a total shock not only to me, but to Phillies fans everywhere. It turned out that there where actually three teams interested in him. The Rangers and Yankees of course, but as well as a third "mystery team". Last week the Nationals where in play, but where quickly removed from consideration. There where a few possible teams, and of course it turned out to be the Phillies.

While I was not a big time Cliff Lee fan on his first go around, he gave some jolt to a struggling Phillies team at the time. Unfortanlly our opponets scored twice in thsoe last 10 minutes to win 12-6 :(. While I'm happy they aren't going to the playoffs, it was a bit of a bittersweet loss as it was the seniors last game and it was my last game as well.

However, what I'm angry about is that the winning school stormed the field. Now granted it was their field and they had all right to. Plus this was their first time going to the playoffs ever. HOWEVER it's a realtively new school (I believe it's five years old), plus the talent pool is deeper where this school is located as there are only 3 school in that portion of the county that offer football. Where we live there is more places to attend so the talent pool is more watered down (until really my senior year, the school whose band I worked with stunk in football).

So what will the future bring for the team? Well they are losing most of their good players, however they have two good quarterbacks lined up for the future. I may go and catch a game or two next year, so we'll see what happens.

And the more good news is that crocheting will be returning starting this week!

I'm back!!!

I promise, regular posts will begining tomorrow. Plus the author of a perfect game in the regular season and the second no-hitter in playoff history (in his playoff debut)! And he's about to win his second Cy Young after winning his first in the American League.

Yes Pat Burrell comes back, but we have Dominic Brown (who will more then likely be our right fielder for next year) who had just as much hype, if not more then Pat and he has shown why they didn't let go of him.

I think the Phils will win in 5.

Lets go Phillies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets go!

Updates

Coming soon!

Movie Reviews Coming Soon

In the next few weeks I'm planning to have a couple of movie reviews. What movies? I haven't decided yet. As for crocheting, I will admit that I haven't really been crocheting the past few weeks, however I'm working on a blanket (plus my cousins, plus my sisters, plus what I'm thinking of doing for next year's fair). So yeah.

Plus Phillies are in the Playoffs, and I've been watching them. Anyway a longer post later on this week.

Crocheting returning soon

I promise!
